English Translation

(Goodbye)
By eastern youth
Words by Hisashi Yoshino
Music by eastern youth

—————————

—————————–

A halo was gradually forming over the sun
The image distorted, suspended on the water’s surface
Just some sort of symbolic language
Piling up over and over
I wonder, why do these tears fall?
Sudden evening raindrops, popping all around
The sound of footsteps, popping all around

A dirty, faded building wall
Abandoned umbrella bones
The corner cafe’s wall clock
Goodbye, farewell, 3 PM

The light blurs. The earth swerves
Head on, back and forth, shoulder to shoulder
Voice an incessant whining
Dammit, you idiot!
Are you really crying?

A dark window on a downhill train
A weak, worn out open mouth
A forever late wristwatch
Goodbye, farewell, midnight

Is this a dream?
Is it just a lie?
Face still getting wet
Tears still drying up
So then

Flowers scatter in gusts of wind
Signs of light show in the window pane
A bird cries somewhere unseen
Goodbye, farewell, predawn

Oh man!
