———–

Counting the stairs while climbing the staircase, I missed my footing and lost count
On the other side of the street, tilting it’s head, I met eyes with a black cat

I was so close, it immediately ran away
And I chased it, I couldn’t see it anymore
From a puddle after the rain
Neverending wet footprints
Fading as if part of the afternoon sunset,
Disappearing

Today, I don’t understand the vivid smell of the blooming spring, or anything at all
In the dazzling shine of this traffic jam, I proceed with one eye closed

That longed for voice, listen for it now
Chase that feeling, until it has been lost
After the much too long winter passes
Freshly bloomed flower petals shower down
In the strong breeze, as another day’s song is
Disappearing

I was so close, it immediately ran away
And I chased it until I could not see it anymore
From a puddle after the rain
Neverending wet footprints
Fading as if part of the afternoon sunset,
Disappearing
